About the project

Italiano

ORDITURE emerged in 2019 from a shared experience by Fabio Oggero, Mattia Paladini and Vittorio Sancipriano within the former Poma cotton mill complex in Miagliano. For more than a century, the factory shaped the identity of the town, its landscape and the relationships within its community. Since its closure in 1992, its presence has continued to define the territory while opening itself to new cultural and productive possibilities.

The title refers to the warp: the set of taut threads on a loom that provides the structure from which a textile takes shape. Within the project, this structure also becomes a metaphor for the connections between labour, memory, architecture and the environment—a deeper weave that outlives the original function of the spaces and resurfaces through their transformations.

The photographs move through the industrial complex and the landscape surrounding it. Walls, thresholds, geometries and traces of use enter into dialogue with the flow of water and the growth of vegetation. The gaze advances through correspondences, bringing the constructed order of the factory into relation with the organic rhythms of the territory.

ORDITURE suspends any nostalgic reading of the ruin and regards the site as an organism that remains active. What endures, what disappears and what begins to change again coexist within the same image. Photography makes this fragile continuity visible, restoring to the complex both the weight of its history and its capacity to generate new relationships in the present.
