About

Fabio Oggero (Turin, 1976) is a photographer and architect. His research explores the relationship between the built environment, landscape and memory, with a particular focus on the transformation of cities and the traces of human presence in places.

After graduating in architecture in Turin and working as an architect for several years, he turned to photography. His architectural background shapes an eye for the structure of spaces, while his documentary approach records their uses, transformations and absences.

In La città sospesa, he observes Turin during the 2020 lockdown, when the disruption of everyday life reveals a different dimension of urban space. The collective research projects Orditure, which grew out of a residency in the industrial spaces of Miagliano, and Sông, focused on the Mekong Delta, extend this enquiry into the memory of industrial sites and territories in transition.

Alongside his personal research, he creates photographic and video projects dedicated to architecture, interiors and design. Through VISIVA ComunicArch, a project developed in collaboration with ComunicArch, he works with architecture practices, institutions and businesses to shape their identity through images, films and texts.
